Started out running service calls AAA at 17 from a gas station in Torrance, California. Come summer started towing and then they wanted to make me a dispatcher. I wanted to be out-side. They grew way to fast and I could see the "written on the wall". Ran outta there before it IMPLODED..... Just as I was about to go back for 2nd year of college I saw a guy I knew and he told me " you got to go see this guy". He and another driver (friend of my older brother) yeah go talk to this guy. What the heck I said as I showed up, He has some Cool trucks. "Big to small, maybe I'll ''learn and tow with them all". Had wheel lifts (EKA's),Medium duty, and Heavy duty trucks. After 5 years figured that I wanted to travel, so I went to work for an Airline. Worked in LAX for 1 1/2 then moved to MSP for 2-3 years, then moved back home to California. Drug my tail as I went and asked former boss could he use a part-time person, due I still work for THE airline. Told me "well he'd have to think about it"??? Made me wait a long time and think that, Great dumbie you burned up those bridges. After about 20 mins of talking (he was thinking), , he said "hell I could find something for you to do". What are the hours,days off and Ect...... you can do. Best part was when Mrs. "Van "gave me a smile and said "what ??? you couldn't just stay away???" The folks at Van Lingen's are the best, made you feel like part of the family.
